Paper Lanterns
Festive holiday or party decorations!
- construction paper or card stock in various colors
- scissors
- tape
Cut a 4x6 piece of paper.
Fold in half lengthwise.
Cut slits along the fold-about 1/2 inch apart.
Open the paper and put edges together.
Tap top and bottom securely.
To make a handle, cut a strip of paper.
Tape it on either side of lantern.
Make lots of different colors.
Attach several on strings for added pizazz.

Colored Mosaic
Play a favorite classical music tape/CD.
- white construction paper or card stock
- pencil
- colored pencils, crayons, fine tipped markers
Using pencil, draw a design as the music moves you.
Circles...squiggles...large...tiny...fill the paper.
See what shapes/pictures you see.
Color each of the parts of the design.

Tambourine
- 2 paper plates
- tape
- dry beans
- colored markers, crayons
Color the underside of the plates.
Place a handfull of beans between the plates.
Tape all around edges securely.
For extra decoration, tape any kind of ribbons,
strings, crepe paper to edges.
Make lots of music!!

Decorated Vase
- clean, slender glass bottle (ie. salad dressing)
- variety of colors of tissue paper
- scissors
- diluted glue
- small craft paintbrush
Cut tissues into 1" squares.
Place several on the glass bottle, overlapping the edges.
Paint over with glue.
Continue over the bottle until entirely covered.
Let dry.
