Homeschool art projects make Great Gifts!

Colorful Magnets

  • stickers (larger ones with simple edges are easier to cut)
  • magnet sheets (craft store)
  • scissors

Place the sticker on the non-magnetic side.

Cut it out carefully. Children may need help with this.

Gift Jars

  • larger glass jar (ie. mayonnaise)
  • assortment of dried beans & peas
  • ribbon or yarn
  • glue
  • scissors

Work with beans & peas until a design pleases you.

Spred glue on top of lid.

Arrange beans & peas on glue.

Shellac.

Let dry.

Fill jar with dried beans, soup mix, pasta or other gift food.

Tie a ribbon around top.

Coaster Set

  • clothesline cord
  • 1 3/4 yards of any kind of fabric
  • scissors
  • fabric glue

Cut 4 54" pieces of the cord.

Cut 4 1x54" strips of fabric.

Wrap 1 strip of fabric around 1 length of cord.

Dot with glue as you go.

Be generous, especially with the end.

Then begin to tightly coil cord, glueing as you go.

Continue to coil.

Tuck the end under and between last coil.

Secure with glue.

Repeat the process 3 more times to complete set.

Let dry overnight.

Lovely Fans
  • construction paper or card stock
  • tape or stapler
  • colored pencils or crayons
  • ribbons (optional)

Cut a 6x12" piece of paper.

Draw pictures or scenes on both sides. (Biblical stories, colorful butterflies, pretty flowers, action figures, etc.)

Make accordian pleats by folding one end over about 1" and crease.

Reverse the paper and fold about 1" and crease.

Continue until the fan is complete.

Tape the folds together at one end. It should be about a fist's length.

Attach colorful ribbons.
