As fall progresses, some birds will soon be migrating south. However, others will remain during the bleak months of winter. Brighten their day--and yours--with the following fall craft.

Bird Feeder

  • large pine cone
  • peanut butter
  • bird seed
  • string
  • flat bottomed pan

Tie the string near one end of the pine cone. Leave enough length to tie it on a tree branch.

Smear it heavily with peanut butter.

Pour a moderate amount of seed in the flat pan.

Roll cone in the seed until it is thoroughly covered with seed.

Tie it on the branch of a nearby tree.

Watch our feathered friends enjoy a hearty meal.

Replace as needed.
