If this activity is used at a
support group party,
add levity and laughter to the contest proceedings. After checking the answers to the Valenine quiz, ceremoniously declare a winner.
It is fun to present him/her (or them, if you have 2nd and 3rd place) with a small prize. The dollar store offers a variety of possibilities. Youngsters usually don't really care what the token is. "It's the thought (and recognition) that counts."
stickers...a roll of pennies, a new dollar or several shiny quarters...an appropriate picture or poster...a special cupcake with "Winner" written on it...a made-up certificate...a Valentine pencil...a gigantic candy bar elaborately wrapped...privilege of leading the younger children
in the valentine exchange.
These are just a few ideas for inexpensive gifts. Of course, if your co-op decides to go all out, give a gift certificate (s)! Another higher-priced suggestion--give pizza restaurant certificates to all participants. This will really liven up the party!
