Homeschool Inspiration:

Laughter Time Out

Homeschool inspiration and encouragement can pop up at the most surprising times--in the most unexpected places. At this time of year, we all welcome a "laughter time out."

Homeschooling is critical to our family and our church and our country. We have dedicated our lives to educating our children at home.

But sometimes it is essential to re-invigorate.

So we step back and look at the wider world...get perspective.

Then give our very best efforts and let go. Often that old saying comforts us: "Work as if it all depends on you. Pray as if it all depends on God." We as humans can only do so much. Then we have to give it all to God and trust.

We can relax and feel secure.

In these moments, enjoy the lighter side of life. Let's share a good laugh or at least a wide grin with the whole family:

Believe it or not, the following are
Actual Signs Posted for Public Information

  • on a pizza shop menu--"Open seven days a week. Closed Sundays."

  • in the restroom of a restaurant building--"Toilet out of order. Please use the floor below."

  • restaurant sign--"Please consume all the food on the premises."

  • sign at a gas station--"Eat Here--Get Gas."

  • sign in a cafe--"Hot drinks to take out or sit in."

  • sign in a health food store--"Closed due to illness."

  • at a fast food restaurant--"Parking for drive-through customers only."

  • office instructions--"After the tea break, staff should empty the teapot and stand upside down on the draining board."

(Not to be overbearing, but these could also be illustrations of how not to write sentences!)

Enjoy these bits of homeschool inspiration. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13
