Homeschooling Field Trip Ideas: Adventure!

Washington crossing the Delaware

Homeschooling field trip ideas open the door to an endless variety of adventures...and it's never too early to begin planning.

Participation in trips can be enjoyed in several ways. A family can:

*plan its own excursion

*participate in community club activities for homeschool students (YMCA, library, local Parks and Recreation Department, nature center, etc.)

*join with a homeschool support group

*do all three!

**********
--Many locations are free or only charge nominal fees.

--Most homeschoolers participate as families.

--Most Chambers of Commerce have lists of interesting places. Contact and tour information is provided. Also check the yellow pages and local paper.

--Most facilities welcome visitors.

--Make reservations well ahead of time and stay in close contact with the person making arrangements for the facility.

--Note--if you're going with a homeschool co-op--Usually almost all of the Moms accompany their children on the homeschooling field trips. Just double check that you have plenty of chaperones.

--Important! Remind students to remember their manners. For lots of folks, you are the face of homeschoolers.

--Afterwards, be sure to send a "Thank You."

Whichever, the children will enjoy and benefit immensely.
