_____________________________________________________________ Ask your child to record all of the books he read during the school year and summer. Just seeing the volume is a great incentive. If you need ideas, just look here for the appropriate "Recommended Reading" lists. A suggestion--your child could star his favorites stories, then as a writing exercise, compose a brief one paragraph "advertisement" for each. Perhaps he could even submit one to this site. Be sure he includes the title, author, and where he found the book, the library, local bookseller, the Internet, etc. I would enjoy hearing from him and would post it for other homeschool youngsters. It's a win-win situation. He would have his recommendation widely read and would be providing a service. The other students would benefit by having a great book to enjoy. All of us Moms would win, too. We're always on the look out for interesting reading material!
